Sir Don Rowlands Event Centre

The Sir Don Rowlands Centre is on of New Zealands most versatile Event venues. Situated on the lakes edge with its stunning views of Mt Maungatautari and the scenic Lake Karapiro, it is the ideal setting for any event. The Centre is a multipurpose complex with flat floor setting. This venue is easily transformed from classroom to exhibition to dinner settings, and is an ideal HQ for large events.

The Centre features rooms of varying sizes, including the Main Hall, Waipa Room, Karāpiro Room,Te Manawa o Matariki Room and Perry Community Water sports Centre. The outdoor deck provides the perfect viewing spot for any event happening on the water. The Centre's grandstand seats 700 people.

The beautiful tree-lined shores of the Mighty River Domain, Lake Karāpiro provide a perfect location for weddings and special occasions. You can choose to get married on site in 19 hectares of park like surroundings or alternatively, Cambridge has many stunning wedding locations, all within a short drive.From the ceremony and reception to the rehearsal dinner, the spacious Main Hall in the Sir Don Rowlands Centre has floor to ceiling windows for 180-degree lake views.With the flexibility to accommodate small and large weddings, the Main Hall can seat 100-550 guests for a buffet or sit down meal, or 900 for cocktails and canapes.Our accommodation can cater for your wedding party and is the perfect base for your weddings guests.

We cater for indoor and outdoor stages within the Sir Don Rowlands Centre or on the spectator embankment next to the lake. With outstanding parking facilities, the Domain caters for up to 15,000 people outdoors and up to 1,000 indoors.
